Brunch Ideas for Mom

Moms - and grandmothers too - work hard to help everyone every day of the year! What better way to send a heartfelt "thank you" then with a classic, yummy brunch–or even a decadent breakfast in bed?

Since every mom is different, here are four time-tested bagel brunch ideas for your consideration.

The Classic Bagel Brunch

  1. Slice and lightly toast a plain New Yorker bagel

  2. Coat both sides with a quality cream cheese

  3. Add sliced nova lox (2-3 thin-sliced pieces)

  4. Add a few slices of fresh red onion

  5. Optional twist: top with a few capers

  6. Place the bagel back together, slice in half



Breakfast Mode Brunch

  1. Create a fluffy, one-egg omelet using whatever method you prefer

  2. Cook 3-4 slices of bacon or turkey bacon (microwave is fine!)

  3. Lightly toast a Garlic New Yorker bagel

  4. On one side, add a thin slice of American or cheddar cheese (really, any cheese you like!)

  5. Add the egg and bacon to one side of the bagel

  6. Optional: to make this a bit less dry, butter both sides of the bagel before building your sandwich

  1. Prepare or purchase a high quality chicken salad (¼ - ½ lb.)

  2. Lightly toast a Cranberry Energy New Yorker bagel

  3. Add a few pieces of washed bib lettuce to one side

  4. Add the chicken salad, ensuring it’s spread evenly

  5. Top with shredded carrots

  6. Optional: Drizzle a small amount of olive oil onto bagel halves after toasting



Lunch Mode Brunch

  1. Lightly toast a Jalapeño Red Pepper New Yorker bagel

  2. Lightly coat both bagel halves with olive oil or butter

  3. Add pieces of fresh turkey (sliced turkey works too!)

  4. Add a thin slice of cheddar cheese

  5. Top with fresh lettuce
