Our fresh onion Bialys are similar to Bagels, except that they are baked, not kettle-boiled. This creates a flatter, denser style of dough, with the Bialys' famous depression in the center (as opposed to a hole), which our bakers fill with flavorful garlic and onion prior to baking.
This famous Jewish bread is indeed a New York City tradition ("bialy" is a Yiddish word, believed to come from Poland), and many customers cannot start their day without one. Try them lightly toasted or just enjoyed as-is!

Grew up in the Bronx eating a toasted bialy at neighborhood luncheonette with a chocolate egg cream . I was leery about New Yorker bialys because they seemed so much larger than those of my childhood. Took a leap and ordered them……best decision . So delicious ! Adding bialys to my list of New Yorker favorites…marble ,cinnamon raisin , French toast, everything, poppy, sesame . I could go on and on !

Bagels are okay. I like them. If you take a step to the left and turn around you'll discover the deliciousness of Bialys. Add a shmear & lox, use as a hamburger bun or soak up the yolks of sunnyside-ups. Not quite as good as ****, but they come close!
