Bagels are very large and filling more than I expected, good for people who eat large portions. They are also costly I can get 2-6 packs locally for about $6.

Traditional New York-style onion bagels are made with plain dough and topped with dried onions before baking—this is the standard method used authentically for decades. While we understand your preference for a different style, mixing onions into the dough adds moisture and acidity, which interferes with fermentation, texture, and shelf life.
